GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The haunting holiday can scare pets who are surrounded by crowds of people and loud noises.

Dressing up your pets seems fun, but even the best pets can react badly if their costume obstructs their vision according to Mesa County Animal Services.

Be aware if your pet is near a pumpkin because they could run into it and cause a fire.

Keep your pet indoors because people have taken pets or injured them on Halloween.

Hiding candy is important because eating it can be poisonous and the wrappers can be choked on if swallowed.
