GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Three Grand Valley organizations celebrate “Be an Angel Day” by kicking off a special shoe drive for foster children of the Western Slope.
Nick-N-Willy's Pizza, Girl Scouts of Western Colorado, and Court Appointed Special Advocates are banding together to help get kids in need the simple day to day necessities through the “Kicks for Kids” shoe drive.
Special bins have been placed at the CASA office, Nick-N-Willy's Pizza, and the Girl Scouts office in Grand Junction to collect new shoes of all sizes for foster children throughout Mesa County.
“We all know what a good pair of shoes feels like when you get a new pair of shoes, and so it was a good way to do something for kids who I really think deserve it most of all,” says Janet Rowland of CASA.
The shoe drive will be going on from now until the end of October, so there's still plenty of time to donate.
As an added bonus anyone that donates a pair of shoes to “Kicks for Kids” will receive a coupon for a free pizza with the purchase of a pizza at Nick-N-Willy's.
