5-year-old girl hit by pickup truck

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A five-year-old girl is in the hospital after she is hit by a Chevy pickup truck.

The incident happened this morning around 8:15 a.m. near 31 Road and F 1/2 Road.

According to Colorado State Patrol, the little girl was walking with two other boys to Thunder Mountain Elementary. They were in the cold shade, so they decided to cross to the other side of the street, where it was warmer.

The boys ran across the road. When the girl followed, she didn't look before crossing, and she was hit by the truck, said CSP.

The driver will not be cited.

There is no word on how severe her injuries are. The area was a 40-mph zone.

This is district 51s fault. They are worthless and should all be fired. We need to punish this district.
