GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Mesa County Health Department is taking on a new program to help combat childhood obesity.
Let's Go! 5210 encourages families to eat healthy by partnering up with child care providers in town to start young kids eating healthy.
5210 stands for children eating five fruits and vegetables everyday, getting two hours or less of recreational screen time, one hour or more of physical activity and zero surgery drinks with a focus on more water and low-fat milk.
Child care providers will get a toolkit outlining ideas to promote health with the hopes that families will be encouraged to enforce those lifestyles at home.
