GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) -- The Library Foundation launched it's public fundraising campaign Tuesday. Officials are asking for your help in raising $1.25 dollars towards the expansion and improvement of the Central Library.

The public campaign gives everyone the opportunity to directly support the project.

"We are a conduit for the people that support the library. We're a way for them to get involved in this project. For us, it's been really great. There's been some work, but there's been a lot more work by the supporters in the past, the friends of Mesa County Libraries Group," said Kevin Bray, fundraising chair of the Library Foundation.

The $6.7 million project will add approximately 9,000 square feet to the existing Central Library building at Fifth and Grand in Grand Junction.

Contributions can be made online at, or by check, mailed to to Mesa County Public Library Foundation, P.O. Box 3668, Grand Junction, CO 81502.
