Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – It's a science fiction story from the past and now it's transporting two local authors to New York City for the nation's largest literary event.

The event is the Book Expo of America.
Local authors Tyler Jolley and Sherry Ficklin say it's exciting that the book is receiving so much attention across the country, and will be at the expo.

The young adult novel is called Extracted: The Lost Imperials. It is about two time travelers who end up on opposite sides of a war.

The authors will be signing advance copies of the book in New York. It is set to be released locally on November 12 or 11-12-13.
