Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – It's been years in the making, and on Tuesday, both city and state officials were on hand as Kannah Creek Brewing Company held a ground-breaking ceremony at its new production facility.
The new facility will be about 14,000 square feet and will brew 60 kegs of beer at a time.
Brewery owners expect to employ 20 people, and they will hire local contractors to construct the facility.
"It allows us to expand what, for us, has already become an almost to-capacity operation at Kannah Creek, and it also allows us to put our beer on liquor store shelves,” said Eric Ross, who is the general manager and one of the owners of Kannah Creek Brewing Company.
The Grand Junction mayor says it's exciting to have the company down by the Riverfront Trail.
“From a City standpoint, it's just a dream for us. We finally found a business down here which will encourage other business to come to this area to enjoy the area and the riverfront trails,” said Mayor Bill Pitts.
Right now Kannah Creek Brewing Company plans to open the doors to the new production facility during the first part of May.
