Local mom connects families with babysitters

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) For parents looking for some time away from the kids, one local mom is making it easier to find a responsible babysitter.

Kristie Clark recently started Sitters in a Snap and she already has 15 pre-screened babysitters ready for business.

"Local moms, whether they're stay-at-home or working, they just need a few hours here and there for someone to watch the kids while they go to the appointment or just like a girls night," Clark said.

She has interviewed all of the sitters, conducted background checks and made sure they are all CPR and First Aid Certified. She then takes their personalities into account when setting them up with families.

"What do you and your kids like to do?" Clark said. "Do you like to play video games? Do you like to go hiking? Do they like to go to the pool? You know, what is their interest? And I also ask the sitters that as well."

Katie Charles has used Sitters in a Snap multiple times and she says she and her children have had a great experience.

"We did this and we did that and we played and we got to run around the yard," Charles said, recalling her children's comments about their babysitter. "It was just non-stop for a week straight of how fabulous it was and everyday I'm like, 'Yes I found Sitters in a Snap,' and I tell everybody."
