Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Every year, one Colorado girl's dreams come true when she is named Miss Colorado Teen USA, and for the first time, the winner of the competition is from the Grand Valley.

Chloe Brown of Grand Junction was crowned the 2012 Miss Colorado Teen USA this last Sunday in Commerce City. Now she will have the opportunity to compete for the national title of Miss Teen USA.

Chloe is involved with many local charities. She even started a program called Hats for Hope at her Fruita Monument High School.

“I actually collected hats for cancer patients going through chemotherapy. I was motivated by my dad because he had cancer last year. So it's just one small way that I was able to give back to my community," said Chloe.

She plans to continue her work with local charities. Currently she is studying Biology at Colorado Mesa University, and she hopes to become a dentist.
