BOULDER, Colo. (AP) – The Colorado State Patrol says a 29-year-old Westminster motorcyclist was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash in Boulder Canyon.

Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Mike Baker says the man, whose name has not been released, was trying to pass four cars on the two-lane road in a no-passing zone at about 3:40 p.m. Saturday. The rider tried to slip back into the eastbound lane between the first and second car in line, but clipped the first car.

Investigators say he then fell off his motorcycle and landed in the westbound lane, where he was run over by an oncoming vehicle.

No other injuries were reported.

The Daily Camera tells us investigators are trying to determine if alcohol or excessive speed played a role in the crash.
