GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A passenger is forced to take the wheel when a pickup driver suffers a medical problem.
Grand Junction Police spokesperson Kate Porras says as two people in a pickup truck were driving west on Grand Avenue around 9:15 a.m., the driver had an undisclosed medical incident and slumped over.
The passenger tried to steer the truck to safety, buy it hit the curb at 9th Street and ran into a tree, stopping close to a business on the northwest corner of 9th and Grand.
The driver was rushed to the hospital once emergency crews arrived. The passenger was uninjured.
