GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Montrose resident Marta Taylor has spent the last ten years of her life serving those who serve our country. She is the co-founder of Operation Sweet Tooth.
She has hand-packed over 11,500 cardboard boxes with care package supplies to help bring a touch of home to our service men and women.
As a way to thank her for her service to those overseas she was awarded with the highest civilian honor the Adjutant General of Colorado can give out.
"Honestly it's our chance to give back to someone who has dedicated, really over ten years of her life trying to take care and make sure American military members have a touch of home. So it's our opportunity to come back and give her a big thank you for what she's done."
During the ceremony a letter from the consulate general of the Republic of Poland was read.
Poland is Marta’s home country.
