GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Another busy day for fire fighters, as six units work to fight flames at a multi-family townhome complex.
Crews responded to 250 Beacon Court around 10:45 a.m. after it was reported there was heavy smoke and flames from the rear exterior of the complex.
One woman and a small baby were home at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate without injury. One dog was rescued without harm, but unfortunately a cat in the building didn't make it out alive.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire in the initial two residences involved.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
