GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - It's that time of year again, today is National Pancake Day!

IHOP is giving away free pancakes to every person who walks through the doors.

The deal runs through 11 tonight.

In exchange for the free meal, they're asking for a donation of any size to an organization dedicated to easing the suffering of children.

"Donate to the Shriners Hospital. That money goes directly and stays in Colorado, right here. And come on in, free pancakes for the family and we just hope you donate," said Randy Paul, manager at IHOP.

Last year the Grand Junction IHOP raised around $2,700 and this year, the goal is $3,000, or more.

Along with the free pancakes, they also have Shriners clowns hanging around, to paint faces and makes balloon characters.
