OLATHE, Colo (KKCO) -- The Olathe Town board will reportedly hear from a private group of citizens tonight at their meeting, the group hopes to revive the Olathe Sweet Corn Festival.

Bobbi Sale, the Executive Director of the Sweet Corn Festival tells KKCO 11 News, she doesn't know who the private group of citizens is or what their proposal will entail but they've been given time at tonight's meeting to share their proposal.

Sale says the town board had budgeted $40,000 for the festival, but they won't be putting on the event this year, scheduled for August 3rd.

A musical act wasn't booked this year and still won't be a part of the festival, a move that will result in lower ticket prices if the festival is taken on by another entity.
