WHITEWATER, Colo. (KKCO) - Colorado State Patrol says one person has died this morning in a rollover crash outside Whitewater.

The accident was reported around 10:35 a.m. Tuesday. Troopers say a man died when he somehow lost control of his 2005 Chevy Impala and rolled it into an embankment.

The victim, an elderly white man, died on the scene. He was the only person in the car.

Troopers are not sure when the crash took place or how long the car was in the embankment before a caller reported it. They say they suspect the victim is a missing person out of Mesa County.

The accident happened around mile marker 144 on Highway 141. The victim's identity and cause of the accident are not yet known.
