GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Artists learn more about perfecting their craft.

The Education Program Coordinator, Charles Wallis, will discuss “Opportunities for Artists at the Art Center” on Oct. 13. Topics will range from how to submit your work for an exhibit to teaching opportunities and classes.

Hosting art demonstrations and practicums are part of the mission of the Grand Valley Art Students League. Membership runs for $40 a year, which includes the ability to participate in demonstrations and to work at 12 monthly open studio sessions at the Art Center.

To be a part of the league, you must attend an Open Studio on Oct. 13. Membership in the league is limited by two primary factors, which is you must be interested and you must either be over 18 years to be sponsored by your instructor.

The league is open to all adult artists that are anywhere from beginning to advanced.

The League was originally launched in 2010 with a grant from the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Open Studio on Oct. 13. If you have any questions email gvartstudentsleague@gmail.com.
