Police need help identifying hit-and-run SUV

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – A hit-and-run crash on Monday sends a pregnant woman to the hospital. Now, the Grand Junction Police Department is asking for your help finding the suspect vehicle.

According to police spokesperson Kate Porras, on Oct. 22 around 1 p.m., a pregnant woman was driving in the far left lane of Ute Avenue near 10th Street (Ute is a one-way street).

As she was passing the intersection, a dark gray/charcoal SUV--which was in the middle lane of Ute Avenue-- darted left in front of the woman to turn south onto 10th Street, says Porras.

The vehicles crashed, and the SUV driver fled the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital when emergency crews arrived.

Porras says the suspect is described as a white man in his 30s. He drives a 1990s model, dark gray or charcoal SUV, like a Chevy Blazer.
