GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – One child finds an unpleasant surprise in one of his Easter eggs.

This past weekend, children participated in an Easter egg hunt hosted by Family Health West.

One child found prescription pills in a plastic Easter egg. Staff says no harm was done to any children, since the child's parents immediately took the pills away.

Angelina Salazar with Family Health West says an Alzheimer's patient at the facility's nursing home was helping to fill the eggs, and she mixed up her medication with the candy.

Officials say the egg-stuffing policy will change, and future residents will not be responsible for filling them.

Correction: This story previously stated that the patient was from the Oaks Assisted Living Facility, which was incorrect.
