Residents sound off on Thanksgiving day shopping

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. With just eight days to go until Thanksgiving some are planning their dinners, but others are working on their shopping lists as many stores are opening early on the holiday.

K-Mart will be offering deals starting from 6:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving and will stay open until 11:00 p.m. on Black Friday. Walmart won't be opening as early, but specials start there at 6PM.

The Mesa Mall is even opening at 8:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving and offering special prizes throughout the night.

Some residents however do not agree with it, "There is no point in having stores open on Thanksgiving," Melanie Smith.

Others think it is up to people to decide, "Let them stay open and let them work who are we to say we can't be there," Brian Mellon.

Whether you are for or against it, stores will be welcoming customers in on Turkey Day.
