Road Striping on Monument

COLORADO NATIONAL MONUMENT, Colo. (KKCO) If you're on the Monument today - be prepared for road striping along Rim Rock Drive.

Starting today, Monday Sept. 30th, the striping crew will be repainting the road stripes on about 14 miles of Rim Rock Drive between the visitor center and the DS road intersection.

For everyone's safety - temporary traffic control will be in place between 7 am and 5 pm. ... you can expect minor delays of less than 5 minutes today.

The project goes from west to east - and will be finished by this Friday, Oct. 4th.

Also - the road surface inside the tunnels is being improved with an asphalt overlay this week.

One lane of traffic will be open during construction in the tunnels and you can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
