GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Strong winds this evening tore through the roof of an industrial building.

Earlier this evening, due to high winds, sections of roofing have been torn off the Rock Energy Building or as some may remember it, the former building for the Hostess Bakery.

The intense winds separated a gas line from the heating unit on the top of the facility.

Building managers contained the gas and fire crews responded to check the building and make sure there were no levels of natural gas remaining.

The only structural damage was to the roof of the facility.

The National Weather Service reported strong down burst winds from shower activity passing through the valley, around the time the roof was damaged.
