GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- JUCO started early for some members of the community.
STRIVE hosted its 2nd annual JUCO picnic at the Botanical Gardens, bringing JUCO teams together for food, fun and games.
Members of STRIVE were able to mesh and mingle with the players- who signed autographs and participated in games.
"This is like their Christmas. They get to start their JUCO just a day early and when the teams play on Saturday, they'll have a lot more fans in the stands," said Barbara Traylor Smith of the Grand Junction Rotary.
STRIVE is a non-profit organization, helping developmentally disabled children and adults in the community.
Tonight's event was an opportunity for those who couldn't participate in the Challenger Game of the Athletes to meet and interact with JUCO players.
