GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – A man crashes his SUV into a fence near the Grand Junction Regional Airport.

A police spokesman says the man--who is over 80 years old -- was driving on Landing View Lane on the north side of the airport when he somehow lost control of his vehicle. He drove his maroon Honda SUV over a power box and into a fence.

Grand Junction Fire Department crews took the man to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He was the only one in the vehicle.

A nearby airport facility lost power, so Xcel Energy is on scene trying to restore it.
