GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- It is early in the season, but for Mesa County, it is never too early to help other have a happy Christmas Day.
The Salvation Army is now accepting applications for Christmas Assistance until Dec. 7. The toy applications are for children 0-14 years old for Christmas Day.
Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday every week. From Monday through Thursday, the Salvation Army is open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. On Friday, the hours are from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will be evening hours on Tuesday, Nov. 27 and Thursday, Dec. 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Some proof of income, a current utility bill, or a current signed lease within the last year is some of the information needed for the application. You must bring a pictured I.D. for all adults in the home.
For all of the children living at home you must have an I.D. for each child, a birth certificate, Medicaid card, school I.D., shot record or social security card. The children must be in the home all year around and not just there at Christmas.
