BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Police are investigating a reported shooting at Florida Atlantic University.

Police told NBC News that one person has been wounded, and another was taken into custody Friday morning.

The shooting occurred in a business park on the north end of the university's property, which isn't part of the main university grounds, and that there was no threat to public safety, police say.

The school is not on lockdown, but police have a strong presence on campus.
