SILT, Colo. (AP) -- A judge has ordered a western Colorado man to remove a trailer, two RVs and other clutter from his yard after he was charged with violating the town of Silt's yard maintenance ordinances.

The Glenwood Springs Post Independent reported Saturday (http://tinyurl.com/azoxrco) that 59-year-old Mark Anderson was given two weeks to clean up the property and was ordered to pay more than $1,300 in fines and court costs.

Anderson told the judge two weeks wasn't enough time and that $400-a-day fines for missing the deadline could mean he loses the property to the city.

The judge said that would be unfortunate but refused to extend the deadline.

Anderson bought the 5,000-square-foot lot in 1990. He says the things in his yard aren't junk and that he might need them some day.
