EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) – The Grand Junction Bomb Squad is rushing to Eagle County to dispose of an unexploded, homemade bomb.

A man walking in the Blue Lake Area of El Jebel this morning found a bottle with an unknown liquid inside, according to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.

Thinking it was trash, he poured it into a gutter, where it started bubbling and smoking.

When deputies arrived, they determined it was a homemade bomb.

In the same area, they came upon four other bottles that had exploded. Those caused small burn marks but no significant damage, according to the sheriff’s office spokesperson.

One more unexploded bomb was discovered in the Blue Lake Park, so the Grand Junction Bomb Squad was called in to take care of it.

Deputies say they believe these bombs were part of a Halloween prank, but they are taking precautions to make sure they do not hurt anyone.

The bombs are made of small soda bottles filled with a yellow liquid. If you see one, do not move or touch it. Call 911 immediately.

If you have any information about the suspect or the crime, call the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office at 970-328-8500 or Eagle County Crime Stoppers at 970-328-7007.
