GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) A new place for fun in the Grand Valley is gearing up for its opening weekend.

"We're just ready to go, ready to rock and let everyone have fun," said Lexi Russell, marketing coordinator for Spin City.

Spin City is not only bringing laser tag, bowling and arcade games all to one place, but it will also house the Western Slope's only skating rink, which is nearly 10,000 square ft.

"Skating is a really great exercise," Russell said. "It's really aerobic and it's safe. It's good for your joints."

With the new facility, Spin City hired 70 people to keep it running, while also helping the local economy.

"Everywhere you go in here there's just games and things to play with," said Darien Harlan, a manager for Spin City. "So even when you're working, you're still just always having fun."

The Spin City staff is hosting a test run Thursday night for a VIP event in conjunction with Mesa County Partners.

It will open to the public Friday at 10 a.m. and will be open every day 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. thereafter.
