FRUITA, Colo (KKCO) -- Food Networks 'Restaurant Impossible' takes America's most desperate restaurants, in danger of shutting down, and revamps their entire business.
In just two days with ten thousand dollars, the show tried to rescue Sullivan’s Grill in Fruita.
"They basically came in and said, we're taking over and you need to go in the back, and you can't see anything, and we’re going to do all these things that you will have no idea until it's time to open," says the owner of Sullivan’s Grill, Ginny Sullivan.
The Food Network totally reworked the space, with new paint, carpeting, lighting and a different bar. Owner Ginny says the food even got new flavor as well.
"They re-did our dinner menu, and taught our cooks how to do some new entrees, did it really quickly and they caught on real fast, it was an awesome experience," says Sullivan.
But three months after the ‘Restaurant Impossible’ renovation, Sullivan’s Grill proved to be impossible to revive, it's now up for sale.
Ginny says she wants to spend more time in her own kitchen with her family, instead of the restaurants.
"I've got two teenagers who are going to need to go to college here in a few years and it's time for me to start a new chapter in my life," says Sullivan.
Since the Food Network aired Sullivan's episode, Ginny says business has gone up, but not enough, even with loyal regulars.
"We come back because it's a very friendly atmosphere, the food is wonderful, and we know everyone so we come in for that," says Dawn David.
Perhaps they'll be able to continue eating at their favorite spot, only with a new name and menu.
