TJ Maxx opens to crowds of eager shoppers
For many the grand opening of TJ Maxx is a dream come true. The discount store held its grand opening on Sunday, and it was definitely an event that did not go by unnoticed.
You may have wondered about the construction that began this summer on a building right next door to Michael's. Shoppers were excited Sunday as they piled in the doors of the store known for its designer labels and great deals.
Many thought the department store addition was just a rumor, and were happy to hear it was true.
Local resident Annelise Tate says she and her mom are bargain shopper junkies, and never expected the shop to pop up here. Tate says it was hard to see what the store really has to offer because the crowd was so huge.
The store is known for being light on the wallet, but packs a heavy punch when it comes to increasing job opportunities in our area. After a hiring event about a month ago, 100 new jobs were created for our area.
