MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- Calling all runners and walkers: the American Cancer Society wants your help. The organization is recruiting teams to help raise support for this year's Relay for Life in Fruita.
Each team of eight to 15 people will sprint to raise money through sponsorships until the big day, May 31.
Then comes the real fun. On May 31, the teams will set up tents and sleeping bags and walk/run around the Fruita 8/9 track all night long.
Leading up to the event, a captain from each team will meet with the others on the second Thursday of the month to keep the groups on track.
Keep up your physical and fundraising stamina to raise money and awareness for this fight against cancer.
If you want to know more about putting together a team, the American Cancer Society is holding an informational meeting on Mar. 14 at 6 p.m. at La Quinta Inn, 570 Raptor Road.
