GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The inaugural Tour of the Moon cycling classic is geared up and ready to begin.
Close to 2,000 bikers will cruise through the Colorado National Monument during the bike race this Saturday, Oct. 6.
The event is open to the community, but there are only about 200 spots left. "Ride Weekend" registration will be on Friday, Oct. 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 6 from 6:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Cyclists can register for $140.00, a cost that includes a $10.00 minimum donation to the Colorado Riverfront Commission and Bicycle Colorado.
The tour will travel east to west over Rim Rock Drive, blocking westbound traffic from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. All facilities of the Monument will remain open to the public during the tour.
