Grand Junction -- get ready to rock around the Christmas tree, as the holiday season officially kicks off tonight on downtown Main Street.

The Wells Fargo Christmas Tree is up and ready to be lit outside of the downtown bank branch.

There will be tons of entertainment, from a balloon artist to musical and dance performances.

The tree isn't the only display being lit tonight; all of Main Street will glow, thanks to the Downtown Partnership and the City Parks Department’s work in stringing lights from 1st all the way to 7th Street.

An evening of holiday fun kicks off at 5 p.m., with Santa doing the honors of lighting the tree at 5:45. Festivities will run through 7 p-m. There's free parking in the garage on Rood Avenue.
