BOULDER, Colo. (AP) A University of Colorado student who was shot by Boulder police during a standoff is set to go to trial in February.

The Daily Camera reports 23-year-old Coleman Stewart pleaded not guilty Friday to four felony counts of menacing and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer and theft.

Stewart was shot multiple times after he allegedly pointed a pellet gun at officers through the door of his home May 30. He spent 12 days in a hospital.

Authorities say the standoff happened after Stewart refused to pay for a cab. The driver called police, and Stewart ran into his apartment, where officers say he pointed a gun at them, prompting them to open fire.
