FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO) -- Two teens are taken into custody, accused of stealing guns and laptops.

Fruita police responded to reports of a burglary at 1189 Woodland Court around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5. The victim told officers the teen suspects fled in a white Ford pickup truck, which another officer saw driving near 21 and H roads about ten minutes later.

Fruita officers and Mesa County Sheriff's deputies pulled the truck over near 24 Road and found three teens inside: a 17-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.

Also inside the truck, police discovered a .22 rifle, a .410 shotgun, boxes of ammunition and two laptop computers, all of which had been reported stolen.

All three were detained at the Fruita Police Department, but the girl was released to her mother after she was interviewed. The boys were taken to the Department of Youth Corrections.

The 17-year-old is being held on two failure to comply warrants and a failure to appear warrant with no bond.

The 14-year-old is held on three no bond, failure to comply warrants.

Fruita police say charges are pending and they won't release anymore information at this time.
