GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) U.S. Senator Michael Bennet will be coming to town to lend a hand to some local businesses.

It's all part of his "Coloradans Don't Shut Down" tour. Bennet will first be lending a hand at Brown Cycles on Main Street downtown on Thursday, October 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Bike shop owner Chris Brown says there's been lots of buzz about his new temporary employee.

"It’s been neat these last couple of days, a lot of e-mails flipping around. Everybody seems to have an opinion on the local politician,” says Brown.

After he's finished helping out at Brown Cycles, Bennet will shift gears and head over to Edgewater Brewery on Riverside Parkway to pour customers a cold one.

Staffers say after that he'll be helping to sort onions at Tuxedo Farms in Olathe.
