Central Library upgrade almost complete

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Over the last several months the Mesa County Central Library has made its home at 1st and Gunnison. Now the library and its staff are getting ready to make the move back to its newly renovated location on 6th and Grand.

The temporary location will shut down on May 31. Then on June 1, moving trucks will be packed to make the move back to the original location. The library will host a grand opening ceremony on June 20.

The renovated library will have:

• 9,000 additional square footage
• A number of new small group meeting rooms
• Besides having a new look and feel, the building will be energy efficient.
