GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Veteran Affairs Secretary General Eric Shinseki received, but has yet to respond to the letter sent by Senator Mark Udall stating the VA Medical Center is underutilized.

The Colorado Department of Veteran Affairs said the letter is under review and welcomes the Senator's continued interest.

However, there is no set timeline for when General Shinseki plans to respond.

The letter sent by Senator Udall last week urges the medical center to make better use of the surgical unit that recently got a 14-million-dollar upgrade.
