Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – In 1991,Habitat for Humanity Mesa County was established. On Friday the non-profit celebrated the finishing of their 60th home. The Calderon family moved into their new home that Friday evening. The one they helped build.

It was stocked with food from the Food Bank of the Rockies. While the family got a lot, officials say families in the Habitat for Humanity program earn it.

"They are families who work hard through our program sometimes anywhere from one to two years they work through sweat equity hours and they eventually purchase the home from us," says Stacy Kelley, programs coordinator, Habitat for Humanity.

The Calderon's home is the eighth to be built in a Habitat for Humanity neighborhood which will eventually include 60 homes.
