Suspect in custody in Gypsum homicide

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. Saturday, Traci Cunningham was taken into custody and booked into the Eagle County Detention Facility on the charge of first-degree murder.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office was notified about a body found 15.2 miles up Gypsum Creek Road. The victim was identified as Penelope Sue Cunningham, 60, of Aurora and appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies with the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakewood Police Department contacted Traci Cunningham who is the daughter of the victim and is being interviewed as a person of interest in this incident.

Traci Cunningham is being held without bond and formal charges will be filed by the District Attorney’s Office.
