GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) If you were downtown Friday night, you may have come across a gory and somewhat terrifying scene as the living dead shuffled and danced their way down Main Street.

They weren't real zombies of course, but plenty of pretenders came out in their best brain-eating, ghoulish attire.

Organizers of the zombie crawl say the event was meant to bring people together to enjoy the weather, and support downtown businesses.

"The businesses are still open and they can support local businesses," says KAFM Community Radio Executive Director, Tedi Gillespie. "Start shopping for their holiday parties, support local businesses downtown and that's what it's all about."

During the crawl, the zombies gathered in front of Wells Fargo at 4th and Main for a "Thriller" flash mob.

After the dance, monsters worked their way to the Mesa Theater for the 5th annual Zombie Prom.
