Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) --- Some people in Colorado added clothes to their wardrobes Friday at no cost.
The city of Grand Junction's Employees' Association held its 22nd Annual Clothing Giveaway at Lincoln Park Barn Friday evening.
It gave away gently used clothing items for men, women and children, all for free.
The event is held right before the start of the school year, so children can head back with new shoes on their feet and clothes in their closets, event organizer Tricia Rothwell said.
"One lady did come up and thanked me and said she has five children and times were difficult and she really appreciated being able to do this," Rothwell said.
Although the Clothing Giveaway has been held for more than 20 years, Rothwell said this year is the last.
She said the city will do something different next year to help the community.
Organizers at the event had lists of places where people can find used clothes for discounted prices in the future.
