Colorado River Day

Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) --- Today marked the 92nd anniversary of when the Colorado River was renamed from "Grand" to "Colorado".

Urban and rural constituents gathered at Eagle Rim Park to honor the day and also to discuss how the improve the supply and demand situation with the river water.

Residents rely on the water for drinking and 15% of the nations vegetables are grown with that water.

Kate Greenberg, with the National Young Farmers Coalition, suggested moving forward with conservation efforts as the best solution.
