Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) --- A new low income housing complex, called the Village Park Apartments, has been under construction since September of 2012 and is set to finally be completed by October.

The 72 unit, one to three bedroom apartment complex will house working families, veterans, disabled and elderly people.

Each unit comes with basic amenities and they are built with a 50 year lifespan in mind, which ensures the quality of each apartment.

Randi Atwood lives in a home across the street from this new complex and said she is concerned that living near low income housing will decrease her property value.

However, Jody Kole from the Grand Junction Housing Authority, assures that property values do not decrease as result of sharing an area with these types of apartments.
