Libraries celebrate end of reading programs


Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) --- Mesa County libraries teamed up for reading program to encourage kids to read during their summer vacation.

The program promotes fun ways to engage kids in reading with events and activities.

Now that the summer is coming to an end, so is the program and to celebrate, each library is throwing a party for all the readers.

Summer Reading Program finale parties are scheduled for the following times and locations:

- 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the Clifton Branch, 590 32 Road
- 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Fruita Branch, 324 N. Coulson
- 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Clifton Branch, 590 32 Road
- 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, at the Collbran Branch, 111 Main St.
- 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, at the De Beque Branch, 730 Minter Ave.
- 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, at the Orchard Mesa Branch, 230 Lynwood St.
- 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Palisade Branch, 119 W. Third St.

The finale parties are open to children and their families at no charge.
