Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) --- The Ute Water Conservancy District released its 2012 Annual Water Quality Report, proving that water in the area is safe to drink.
The report tests for inorganic contaminants, volatile organic chemicals, radioactive contaminants, microbiological contaminants, total organic carbons and secondary contaminants. All levels detected fell into a safe range and there were no violations reported.
Joseph Burtard, with Ute Water, said finding natural and organic elements, like rock and sand, in the water prior to treating it is normal and they supply high quality water as it comes straight from snow melt that goes into their reservoirs.
