Concord, N.H. (AP) Former concord monitor photographer Preston Gannaway was on her way to a new job in Colorado when she found out she had won this year's pulitzer prize in feature photography.

Gannaway won the award for documenting how the family of maternity nurse Carolynne St. Pierre coped with her terminal illness.

St. Pierre died at home last year.

Gannaway is about to start working for the Rocky Mountain News.

The Denver Post's Miles Moffeit and Susan Greene were named Pulitzer finalists in the investigative reporting category for a series on the destruction of evidence in criminal cases nationwide.

The Rocky Mountain News' Kevin Vaughn was a finalist in feature writing for a series revisiting a 1961 train-school bus collision.
