Connecticut shooting victim names released

NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) -- Authorities have released the names of the 26 people gunned down in a rampage at a Connecticut elementary school.

All six adults killed at the school were women. Of the 20 children who were shot to death, eight were boys and 12 were girls. All the children were ages 6 or 7.

Investigators are trying to learn more about 20-year-old gunman Adam Lanza, who killed himself after the massacre.

    I am again ashamed of our press and the way they exploit tragedy. We talk about what contributes to terrible events, but we never touch the press. I believe that the media is escalating the incidence of tragedy. In order to get higher ratings, networks and reporters do not respect the privacy of hurting people. Worse, I believe they tell other unstable people that they can have HUGE and gruesome attention by performing atrocities. I will hurt for and pray for the families in Newtown,Connecticut, but I refuse to watch or read any more of the sick news. Maybe if we won't watch, our press will change.

    This is so sad .. it is tragic .. the shooter was a troubled individual . condolences to his family and to the victims of his actions. We can talk about stricter laws in regards to gun control .. but that was not the case here he had access to those weapons who belonged to his mother. It is so easy to place blame on her for not locking and securing those weapons away from her children --- but we don't know the situation in the home . I hope that President Obama will realize that our money needs to be invested in our country to help the future of our children .. It sickens me to see the amount of taxpayer money that is sent to other countries .. lets demand that the people of this nation are taken care of first ...
