Democrats may stand in Obama's way on gun measures

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate is preparing to begin debating new gun control measures, and some of President Barack Obama's fellow Democrats are poised to frustrate his efforts to enact the most sweeping limits on weapons in decades.

These Democrats from largely rural states with strong gun cultures view Obama's proposals warily and have not committed to supporting them.

The lawmakers' concerns could stand in the way of strong legislation before a single Republican gets a chance to vote "no."

All eyes are on a core group of these Democrats, including Sens. Max Baucus of Montana, Mark Begich of Alaska and Mark Pryor of Arkansas, who are up for re-election in 2014.

The Senate Judiciary Committee begins hearings Wednesday.

    The BOTTOM LINE here should be ........AMERICANS NEED to stand in Obama's way on gun measures . NOT just Dems or Repubs or even Independents, BUT ALL TRUE AMERICANS. It's the American way after all.

    Obama is cutting deals with China to give oil, clean coal, natural gas and US land to china to pay off the US dept. China will not do it until Obama disarms the US citizens. He needs an army to do this loyal to him as the SS was to Hitler. The Obama administration didn’t count on the US citizens arming themselves as quickly as they did. When WACO, Ruby Ridge style attacks start happening in the US one a month, this will be the trigger to start it all. Then we will see who’s foil hat is on too tight. God help us. I hope I am wrong, I don't want it.

    With Obama asking his military Officers if they are willing to kill US citizens, if they don’t give up their guns as a litmus test and many officers resigning their commission because of that tells me we are in for another civil war. With Holder telling the Law students that Obama and a secret panel can kill dangerous US citizens without the Judiciary, tells me he is pushing for the extermination of any person who doesn’t follow his dictatorship. I hope our own State congress and Governor do not pass any illegal laws. It will be horrible.
